However, anyone who likes to drink wine knows that the taste of wine is easy to change and the oxygen in the air is wine's greatest killer even though it is conductive to enliven molecules and obtain a more smooth and soft taste. After being opened, the wine will spoil due to the vinegar produced by the reaction between the acetic acid bacteria and the oxygen. Therefore, it's best to drink wine in 4-6 hours and no more than 24 hours is also considered acceptable. But in many cases, we can't drink it out and wine cannot be stored for a long time. It's pitiful to drink spoiled wine and throw it away. So are there some tips to extend the shelf life of wine and make sure your wine always drinks its best?

Method 1: Refrigeration

A well-sealed and nearly full bottle of wine can be preserved in the refrigerator for a while. Generally speaking, the resting period of wine is longer than that of white wine. And it should be noted that the temperature in the fridge is about 3°C - 4°C, while the optimum temperature for wine is 15°C - 18°C. Considering the great effect caused by the difference, we ought to drink wine after it gains the proper temperature.

Wine can be kept for a long time in a state of vacuum before being opened. Then we can also apply vacuum stoppers and vacuum sealer machines to evacuate the air in the bottle, isolating the wine from the air and prolonging its best by date. The vacuum-sealed wine can be stored in the refrigerator as well, which preserves the original flavor of the wine to a greater extent.
