What Are the Common Causes of Air Leaks in a Vacuum Bag?

As we all know, people always pursue the principle of consuming food with confidence and satisfaction from the aspect of the diet. With the continuous improvement of food safety requirements, food packaging has become the focus of public attention. However, it's hard for the common packaging to match people's needs. At this time, vacuum bags raise public concern and win a place for themselves in the competitive market with light-weight, fresh-keeping and preservation features.

And sealing is one of the basic requirements of a vacuum bag. While after a period of time, we may find that air leaks, swelling or other problems happen in the vacuum bag, which results in losing the value of packaging. So, what are the common causes of air leaks in a vacuum bag?

1. The problems of vacuum bags
First of all, during the process of production, the temperature and humidity of the manufacturing workshop will affect the quality of the packaging itself. Therefore, the phenomenon of air leakage and swelling may result from the lack of control of the temperature and humidity in the production. Next, there may be defective tightness in the seal. Vacuum bags need to be closed through heat pressing after the procedure of packing. And the quality of closure may influence the seal function of bags directly. In addition, a vacuum bag may be excessively extracted in the process of vacuum pumping. Excessive extraction would destroy the tension of the bag and cause damage.

2. The incomplete sterilization of food
Under the circumstance of incomplete sterilization in the vacuum packaging, the bacteria in the bag will produce gases and spread quickly so that swelling happens, which is common in meat products.

3. The problems of transportation and storage
During the transportation process, vacuum bags may be destroyed and air leaks occur due to the bump on the road. And in the process of storage, if the environment is uneven in temperatures, it may lead to condensation and leakage in bags.
